Overview

The Step-Ko SSCFS (Fire-Safe) gasket enhances the typical SSC design by incorporating a secondary sealing element that effectively maintains its seal even in temperatures reaching 1500°F (815°C) during a fire. This fire-resistant gasket provides a reliable sealing performance in harsh conditions and successfully meets the requirements of the API 6FB, 3rd Edition fire test.

Additional Features

• An isolating and sealing gasket, SSCFS Type “F”, comes with a 316 stainless steel core retainer that is laminated on both surfaces with a G-10 fiberglass reinforced composite.
• It has a precisely tapered groove designed for the controlled compression of a PTFE spring-energized seal.
• A second groove houses a carbon steel backup ring featuring a specialized isolating coating.
